Frequently Asked Questions
Where do these quotes come from?
Most of them are from IRC, but a few are from other instant chat mediums. In the case of IRC, the vast majority come out of #perkele on the Doolanshire IRC network.
Can I join in the fray?
Sure! To join us on IRC, you can simply use our in-browser Disciples of Bork chat, powered by Mibbit.
Alternatively, you can connect using your own IRC client (our recommendations: Colloquy for Mac, XChat for Windows or Linux). Tell your client to connect to irc.doolanshire.net, and then join #perkele.
Why can't I add quotes?
Because you're logged out. Log in or register to submit quotes!
Who is Wheaties?
Wheaties is an adorable IRC bot (read: non-human) created and run by Raws. His main purpose is to collect conversation and try to learn how to speak based on highly complex linguistic analysis. If you say his nick in the channel, he will respond to you, often with a derogatory or generally filthy phrase.
In addition to his brain, Wheaties also features a wide array of other handy tools, like language translation, weather reports, memos and retaining handy factoids. Ask around in the channel for more information.
For the technically-minded, Wheaties is powered by Ruby and runs on a 2 GHz Core 2 Duo Mac mini. He also utilizes a PostgreSQL database.
